Description

TBS buffer is an isotonic buffer salt solution commonly used in biology. It is mainly used in immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, and other experiments to wash non-specifically bound antibodies in western blot experiments. Tris-HCl constitutes a stable pH buffer system, and NaCl provides isotonic conditions.

Storage at 4°C can extend the shelf life of the product. Low temperature storage is not recommended for long-term storage. If the product crystallizes out, please place it in a 37℃ water bath until it is completely dissolved.

TBS buffer is an isotonic buffer salt solution commonly used in biology.

Tris-buffered saline (abbreviated TBS) is a buffer used in some biochemical techniques to maintain the pH within a relatively narrow range. Tris (with HCl) has a slightly alkaline buffering capacity in the 7–9.2 range.

TBS has many uses because it is isotonic and non-toxic. It can be used to dilute substances used in laboratory experiments. Additives can be used to add to a compound’s functionality.

TBS is often used in immuno-blotting for both membrane washing and antibody dilution.
